Trusted Partners: Everyday Energy Efficiency in the South

Project Description

The Deep South Ethnographic Project produced the report Trusted Partners: Everyday Energy Efficiency in the South for the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. A team of five fieldworkers, plus one intern conducted ethnography in five sites across the Southern United States and Texas. We explored the consumption of energy in several sectors, including residential, commercial, agricultural, and transportation. Driven by the question, “Do Southern citizens care about energy efficiency?” We found that the answer is a resounding yes, especially when they are connected to the issues through organizations and individuals they already trust. Nominated for the WAPA Praxis Award.
